The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has collaborated with Nvidia to launch a ‘supercharged sandbox’ to help companies safely experiment with AI to support innovation.
Through the collaboration, companies are given the opportunity to experiment with artificial intelligence using NVIDA Accelerated Computing and NVIDA AI Enterprise software.
The Supercharged Sandbox gives companies access to better data, technical expertise and legal support to accelerate innovation.
This is open to every financial service provider who is looking for innovation and experimenting with AI.
An existing AI live test service helps people further develop and ready to use AI.
In its new strategy, the FCA is committed to supporting economic growth by making innovation possible and making technological progress such as AI.
FCA Chief Data, Intelligence and Information Officer Jessica Rusu says: “This collaboration will help those who want to test AI ideas, but who miss the possibilities to do this. We will help companies to benefit our markets and consumers while supporting economic growth.”
NVIDA EMEA Head of financial technology Dr. Jochen Papenbrock adds: “AI reforms the financial sector fundamentally by automating processes, improving data analysis and improving decision -making, which leads to greater efficiency, accuracy and risk management in a wide range of financial activities.”
“The supercharged sandbox of the FCA offers companies a safe environment to explore AI innovations using the full stack of NVIDA’s Full Stack Accelerated Computing Platform, to support industrial growth and efficiency.”
The move came when Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the VK will commit an extra £ 1 billion in financing to scale up the country’s computing power by a factor of 20.
As part of this, the Chipgigant will invest £ 185 million in its Bristol Lab to help the UK become an ‘AI -maker, not an AI -Toning’, said Starmer in a speech that this morning this morning of the London Tech week starts alongside Nvidia director Jensen Huang.
The prime minister added: “We will also bring the complete powers of the government with a new Tech-First training program.
“That is a maximum of one million young people who are trained in technical skills – which will be so crucial for their future.”
Hargreaves Lansdown Head of Money and Markets Susannah Streeter says: ” Going for a growth to be central to the government’s expenditure review, the Prime Minister would like to set up the reputation of the UK as a hub of AI activity.
“Nvidia, is the Super-Star Chip Global Giant with a rating of $ 3.46tr, so his promise to invest in the UK will be seen as a coup for the government.
“The affiliated deal will contain more employees in the UK to use AI and to extend research at universities, including the company’s own AI Laboratory in Bristol.
“Bristol University is the home of Isambard-AI, the most powerful supercomputer in the UK, designed for AI research and access to this groundbreaking technology is expected to help more AI innovations to make progress.”
Last week the FCA and the office of the Information Commissioner announced that they will draw up new rules on the use of AI among the financial service providers.
