The Bridging & Development Lenders Association (BDLA) has announced that Adam Tyler will become its new CEO from early 2026.
Tyler will replace Vic Jannels, who will step down at the end of 2025 after six years in the role.
Tyler served as CEO of the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB) for over eleven years and later served as Executive Chairman of the Financial Intermediary & Broker Association (FIBA).
The appointment was announced on stage at the BDLA’s annual conference on November 12.
Tyler said: “I have been involved in specialist property finance for almost 35 years and have led trade associations in the sector for over 20 years. It is a real privilege to become CEO of the BDLA. In that time I have seen and worked with most of the lenders within the bridging and development sector and I look forward to building on the great work Vic has done over the last six years.”
During Jannels’ term of office, the BDLA has been given a new nameexpanded its membership and the size of lenders’ loan portfolios almost tripled.
Jannels said: “I really enjoyed the intense and exciting challenge of this great sector of the mortgage market. I have known Adam for many years and am confident he will use his considerable experience and knowledge to take the BDLA to new heights.”
The BDLA has almost 100 lenders and associate members with a combined loan portfolio of more than £13 billion.
