GB Bank has appointed Asim Shirwani as head of bridging to lead a new bridging team.
Shirwani brings almost 20 years of experience in both bank and non-bank lending, including short-term bridge financing and longer-term real estate financing structures.
He previously held senior positions at Hilco Real Estate Finance, Cynergy Bank, Lendhub and Metro Bank.
In his new role, Shirwani will take a market-focused position, focused on growing the bank’s bridging business, helping to support its broader lending offering and deepening relationships in the intermediary market.
He will lead a new specialist bridging team, including Victoria Mahy, who has been appointed as Business Development Manager (BDM).
Mahy joins in GB bank‘s bridging team as BDM, with strong experience in specialist finance and a proven track record of supporting intermediaries on a wide range of complex transactions.
Shirwani said: “I am delighted to be joining GB Bank at such an exciting stage in its growth journey and to help grow its bridging lending business further. The bank has quickly built a strong reputation for its practical, relationship-oriented approach to lending, supporting brokers and borrowers in matters that require experience, flexibility and commercial acumen.”
“This approach is particularly important in the bridging market and I look forward to working closely with Victoria and the rest of the team to help brokers access fast and secure, reliable financing solutions.”
