Key Group has appointed James Perkin as Chief Financial Officer.
Perkin joins from Age Partnership Group, a lender and equity release advisor, where he was Chief Financial Officer. During his 23-year career, he has more than 12 years of experience in chief financial officer and CEO positions.
His career focused on consumer finance activities and he joined Baker Tilly as a trainee auditor.
Perkin will join Key Group’s board of directors and his role will include overarching responsibility for the finance function and facilities management team at Key Group’s head office in Preston.
He takes over the position of CFO from Key Group CEO Simon Thompson, who has acted as interim CFO following the retirement of his predecessor.
Perkin will begin his new role in January, subject to regulatory approval.
Commenting on the appointment, Thompson said: “James brings deep experience and expertise in the life insurance market to Key Group and is the ideal appointment at an exciting time for our business.”
“The life insurance market is evolving rapidly and is increasingly becoming an important part of the mainstream mortgage market. James will be a key contributor to the team as we continue to expand and I look forward to working with him.”
Perkin added: “Key Group is one of the leading companies in the sector, so it is a great time to join. I am excited to apply my experience to further enhance the Group’s proposition.”
