Ecology Building Society has become a member of the SimplyBiz panel, giving members access to its full range of green mortgages.
The lender offers deals for energy-efficient houses, eco-renovations, conversions and retrofits, as well as housing projects guided by the community.
An important feature of the range is the C-Chahange discount, which lowers mortgage interest on the basis of improvements that make borrowers on the energy efficiency of their property.
The greater the reduction of the carbon footprint, the greater the discount.
Ecology Building Society Senior Mortgages Product and Proposition Manager Daniel Capstick says: “Our impact-guided lending is designed to support properties and projects that have positive environmental and social benefits and we have added to our range this year.
“We know that there is a growing market for homeowners who want to live more sustainably and brokers can help us reach those buyers and remort riders who are looking for a real ‘green’ mortgage.
“As specialists in ethical financing for more than 40 years, our team has extensive knowledge to support the members of SimplyBiz Mortgages and their customers, whether for complex cases, non-standard construction or energy-efficient self-build.
“We continue to invest in our technology, including a new mortgage origination system that will be launched very soon.
“We also strengthen our Business Development Manager and Underwriting Team, to support our tailor -made box conditions and ensure that we offer the best service we can do to intermediaries.”
SimplyBiz Hypotheken Head of the money -shooting relationships Phil Daffern says: “After having had a sharp focus on the green agenda and has assessed the market offer in various lenders for more than five years, we are particularly pleased to welcome ecology in the panel.
“Their addition offers our members, and ultimately their customers, access to experienced specialists in this area, who have made their mission from the start to offer an ethical approach, to support the environment and sustainability in the new and existing housing stock of the United Kingdom.
“We are already seeing important shifts in requests for support for more climate -friendly developments and this will only continue to grow as we all struggle with how we can make our impact more environmentally friendly.
“The addition of ecology ensures that our members are perfectly placed to offer extra choice of specialists aimed at the delivery of specially built supporting solutions.”
