Specialist lender Together has announced it will expand its dual representation proposal north of the border.
This change applies to unregulated loans up to £500,000 secured by residential property and brings Scotland in line with Together’s existing proposal in England and Wales.
Dual representation allows a single attorney to act for both Together and the client, streamlining the legal process and providing a faster, more cost-effective experience. The extension only applies to commercial financing transactions.
By introducing dual representation in Scotland, Together aims to speed up processing times, giving customers quicker access to their money.
Together will work with a panel of accredited Scottish lawyers familiar with the procedures.
In response to the move, Samen director of intermediaries Tanja Elmaz said: “Extending our dual representation proposal to Scotland is an important step in improving our service to those buying property north of the border.
“This expansion also opens up new opportunities for brokers, who can now confidently submit Scottish matters requiring dual representation, knowing that Together has the infrastructure to support them.”
